About Me
Hi, I’m Gerda.
I’ve been working as an Occupational Therapist for over ten years, and I truly believe that our ability to do, move, create, and participate is part of what makes life meaningful. I’ve always had a deep love for hands — how they carry our independence and connect us to the world — which led me to complete my Postgraduate Diploma in Hand Therapy at the University of Pretoria in 2013. Since then, I’ve continued learning with certifications in Adult Neuro-Rehabilitation (NDTA), Lymphedema and Wound Care, chronic pain management (Train Pain Academy), and most recently Functional Capacity Evaluations through OccuPro. I live and work in Bethlehem, and every day I get to help people return to work, regain function after injury, and find confidence in their own recovery. That’s the heart of what I do.

Our Approach
At Gerda Oosthuizen Occupational Therapy, we believe that recovery is about more than just physical healing — it’s about helping people reconnect with their identity, purpose, and everyday routines. We work collaboratively with our patients, combining clinical expertise with empathy and education. Our goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and capable of facing each step of the journey toward resilience.
